Rickie Fowler made the news when he had to bow out of the PGA championship that he was participating in at Oak Hill, when he was undone at the same hole that had claimed golfing legend Tiger Woods some time back.
Oak Hill’s ninth hole had once spelt doom for Tiger Woods, and it seems that the curse of the ninth hole has struck again, as even fowler was not lucky during his turn at the ninth at Oak Hill.
Rickie Fowler had been doing great up until the ninth hole ruined his game. He was playing at his fullest potential, and he stayed at 2 under during the major portion of his first round at the PGA Championship. He did have a few bogeys, but he did eventually return to the 2 under and he even followed with seven straight pars.
But then when it came to the ninth hole, he had a double bogey, and he just could not find the green. He just could not get the ball to go where he wanted. So later on when he was asked about how he felt regarding the ninth, he said that it was about as bad as it could have been, and he did really try to get it in there, but unfortunately, he did not get the results that he was hoping for.
But Rickie Fowler said that he will concentrate more on the positive side of the round, and that he really did play some good golf, and was quite consistent too, as much as he would have liked. He did miss a few greens, but then all in all, it could not have been a better start. Fowler had last had a great finish when he was playing the 2011 Open Championship, and now it remains to be seen what the future has in store for him.
