Luke Donald of England is pretty charged up to see the UK athletes winning gold for their country and hopes the same fortune to follow him in the upcoming PGA Championship and other events. In fact Donald went on saying that it would be a pleasure for him to represent his country and win gold in the Summer Olympics.
Golf will be brought back as an Olympic event in 2016 and it will be nice to see the Englishman representing his country. Luke Donald is now looking forward to the rest of season and he wants to win all of them. Though he said that it would be great if he is to represent his country in 2016 Olympic in Brazil, but his center of attention, as for now, is to do well in the PGA Tour. The once world number one lost his number one spot to Rory Mcllory recently. He is working pretty hard to get back to the number 1 position.
Donald hasn’t been going through a good time recently. He has bagged 11 international wins and that includes the two victories that he clinched in 2012. But as far as the last six months are concerned, Donald hasn’t been able fetch a single victory. He tied for the fifth spot at the British Open and that happens to be his closest encounter during the last six months. He had a tie for the 32nd spot at the Masters and was rejected the US Open cut.
Luke Donald confessed that mentally he was not in a good position. He knew that if he had to play good then he not only has to get hold of physical fitness but mental fitness, too. Now he thinks that he is coming to a proper condition which brings him a good result at the Open Championship. Donald is all set to have a go at the upcoming events and the success of UK in Olympics gives him a lot of inspiration.
